Image: 1620557 Thalia Zedek’s 4th album, Fighting Season, is a direct, raw, and scorching
rock album. The album features performances by guitarists and friends J.
Mascis (Dinosaur Jr.) and Chris Brokaw ( Come ). The album was recorded
in Zedek’s home of Boston at Kimchee Records Studio by Andy Hong.
Thalia’s song writing and performance are the best she has ever laid down.
The masterful Fighting Season features musicians she has worked with since
2015, including longtime collaborator and violist Dave Curry, pianist Mel
Lederman, bassist Winston Braman, and drummer Jonathan Ulman.
“Fighting Season”, a term originally coined for the period of time in
Afghanistan when winter comes to an end and fghting resumes, is
reinterpreted by Zedek with a the focus on a rebirth of resistance brought
on by the deteriorating U.S, political landscape.
Zedek deftly combines the force of her playing, with an urgency of vocals
to spin tales of discord and struggle from the personal to the political.
The potency of her message re?ects her exceptional songwriting and
playing. Thalia’s fervent passion as an artist and as a citizen gives Fighting
Season is a compelling narrative set to a searing guitar lines and beautiful
arrangements.. Turn it up and Fight Back.

Thalia Zedek has been a been a seminal fgure in the
independent music scene for over 30 years as a member
of Come, Live Skull, and Uzi.
“Through Live Skull, through Come, Zedek’s guitar always
bore weight—you could feel the whole 20th century
catastrophe bearing down on it. That weight is still there,
as through a long instrumental introduction—enveloping,
full of confdence, elegiac—you fnd yourself at a funeral
for someone you’ve never met.” - Greil Marcus (Pitchfork)
‘She has always found a way not just to write some of the
most beautiful riffs and songs in all music but crucially to
map out a territory in songwriting that’s almost entirely
her own” - The Quietus
